About the Show

This is the classic story of Rapunzel, with some modern twists, a score of parodied modern pop songs, audience interaction and all of the tropes of Pantomime. It is perfect for children, but with plenty of jokes for the adults too. The show features a large cast of colourful and hilarious characters, and an opportunity for an ensemble of villagers and guards and forest animals to give a wide opportunity for our community to be involved. This is a new work, written by Isaac Owen.

The plot follows Rapunzel who is stuck in a tower and utterly bored. Her chameleon friend encourages her to enjoy her simple life, but she really does want to get out of the tower. Her Aunty Gothel, who looks after her, is actually an evil witch with sinister plans. Meanwhile, the son of the local hairdresser discovers that the mysterious empty tower is not nearly as empty as everyone thought. Will this hairdresser’s son be able to rescue her from the tower before the witch’s evil plans come to fruition?
